This is one of the four (Philippians, Colossians and are the others). It shows the of the Church. It is sometimes called “Paul’s ”, or “Paul’s third-heaven epistle”.

Paul had been to enter Asia - where Ephesus was the - on his missionary journey. He went into Europe as far as , after which he returned by way of Ephesus. He returned there on his journey and had a ministry there of (Acts 18:19 and 19:8-10). The people of Ephesus heard more Bible teaching from Paul than did any other people. He met opposition there, but God preserved him. He loved the church at Ephesus.
